Redcar in Decline is a website set up with two main objectives in mind. One is to improve and restore Redcar to its former popularity as a seaside resort by attracting public opinion and campaigning for continuous improvement. The other is to try to persuade more people to take an active interest and to show a sense of pride in Redcar and its surroundings.

In spite of this, Redcar in Decline has been threatened with legal action by the Redcar MP, Vera Baird. She wrongly states that the site implies that she does not have an email address, that it is also not available to constituents and that she does not reply to them.
Redcar in Decline has also never stated or suggested, that she does not answer her constituents questions, as she claims we did.

Because of this she has threatened to sue Redcar in Decline.

Redcar in Decline has also been accused of lying about her on the website. This accusation is also incorrect in its assumption.

We would ask that you all look through the site and make up your own mind as to whether or not Vera Baird is a victim of libel, lied about or accused in any way, shape or form.
When this site was constructed she, along with any other political person or party was not contemplated, or given any consideration by Redcar in Decline.

What Redcar in Decline has done however, due to Vera Bairds insistence, is to put her Parliamentary email address

on to the links page of the website. From this page you can now email her direct from this site.

Now that Redcar in Decline is actively promoting Vera Bairds email address on its website, we would ask you to take the time to e-mail her with your thoughts, problems, dilemmas, frustrations etc on Redcar and its locale. We hope that the answers you will no doubt receive can be shared by us all, on the comments page of our website.

We are sure that Vera Baird has the same objectives and goals in mind, regarding the regeneration of Redcar, as we do.

On a more positive note, Redcar in Decline would like to thank Councillor George Dunning for the genuine interest shown in this site. He appears to be actively responding to the requests of Redcar citizens in general.
This shows that Redcar in Decline is providing a valuable public debating forum, which can be accessed by MPs, Councillors and the public alike.

Ideas and comments posted here can be shared and given consideration by any interested party.
